About the Aevitas Sperm Donation Agency

Every Aevitas Sperm Donor represents the kind of man the world needs. The kind of man who is willing to help families they will never meet have the child they long for. We witness the life changing effects that our sperm donors contribute to.

The Aevitas Sperm Donation Agency offers sperm donors a highly professional environment. We ensure that donated sperm is provided to a few select families while maintaining the privacy and anonymity of our donors.

The Aevitas Sperm Donation Agency provides our donors with a seamless donation process from screening to donation. Donors are financially compensated for the time and effort they invest.

Meticulous management of the few select families who may choose a particular donor is a key element of the work the Agency performs. A limited number of live births per donor is adhered to as per government regulations. In many cases one family will choose the same donor for siblings to complete their family.

The Aevitas Sperm Donation Agency is made up of fertility experts including embryologists and fertility specialist doctors. We are here to support our sperm donors during the entire process. Our expertise ensures a smooth donation process. Through the screening you gain access to valuable medical and fertility information.

Do I qualify to be a sperm donor?

If you are a healthy non-smoker between the ages of 19 and 37 with a minimum height of 1.68m, living in Cape Town or surrounding areas and have a degree or diploma (or are registered for one) you are the man that we need. We have several recipient families who are looking for a sperm donor just like you. Apply now in the application box on the right-hand side of the screen.

Let's talk about the money

While we know our sperm donors donate to help our recipients, we also compensate you for the time and commitment it takes to be a great donor. Our sperm donors receive between R3 000 and R8 000 compensation.

Why do people need a sperm donor?

1 in 4 couples who long for a child struggle to conceive. This may be because the male partner’s sperm is not of sufficient quality/quantity for fertilisation or he may have a genetic disorder he doesn’t want to pass on. Same sex female couples and single women may also choose to have a child with the help of a sperm donor.

Whatever the reason for needing a sperm donor, the journey taken to get to this point is often long. Those who choose one of our amazing sperm donors to help them build their family are incredibly grateful for this precious gift. Though recipients will never meet or know who their sperm donor is, his courage and selflessness is something they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Collapse/Expand
Q1: How long does it take to donate sperm?
The sperm donation process involves 2 visits to the clinic a week, for approximately 3 to 4 weeks. You will be met by a member of our team who will take you to a private, quiet room to produce the semen sample. For most donors, the whole clinic visit takes about 20 minutes.

Q2: Will I have hundreds of children running around?
The short answer is No.

South African law limits the number of live births per donor. After the limited number of live births are recorded, the donor is removed from the database so that recipient families are no longer able to choose that donor. In many cases recipient families will choose the same donor to have a genetic sibling should they wish to have more than one child through sperm donation.

Q3: Will the family I donate to know who I am?
The short answer is No.

Both South African law and the Aevitas Sperm Donation Agency protect the donor and recipient family’s identity through the following system:
The Aevitas Sperm Donation Agency provides anonymous donor profiles to recipient families for their consideration through a password protected login system.
Recipient families only see anonymous general information about the donor. Baby or toddler photographs of the donor assist the recipient family to visually match the donor to their own genetic material while protecting the donor from identification

Q4: What happens if my sperm doesn't "qualify"
One of the biggest concerns many donors have is that through the sperm donation process they may discover something is wrong with their own sperm.

First, after your analyses, the Aevitas Sperm Donation Agency will discuss your results with you. If you are told that your sperm does not meet the criteria to be included in the sperm bank, this is not necessarily an indication of your fertility as the Agency is looking for donors with above average samples.

Secondly, if during your analysis we do find indications that you may struggle to conceive in the future, our team is able to advise you on steps you can take now, to increase your sperm quality so that you are able to look after your fertility for the future.

Either way, becoming an Aevitas Sperm Donor will not only assist families who can’t have the child they longed for without your help, but also helps to protect your own fertility health for the future.
